Meet Acer’s good looking Windows 10 phone and cut-price Android slate

January 4, 2016, by Michael Young, BeaconExaminer.com — Today, Acer is announcing the Liquid Jade Primo smartphone. The Acer Liquid Jade Primo will start selling at $617 which approximately equals to Rs 41,140 and will initially be available in Europe, Middle East and Africa and will be subsequently rolled out for other regions. This will allow you to utilize any Type-C compatible monitor to watch videos, do presentations, and thanks to Continuum, you can have a PC-like experience with universal Windows 10 apps.

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Its 8-inch HD IPS display runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and features nine hours of battery life, a MediaTek quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and up to 128GB additional space via a Micro SD card.

To reduce the heat that resource-intensive multitasking brings, the Liquid Jade Primo features an advanced cooling system that efficiently dissipates the heat from the processor, while also reducing the overall rear surface temperature.

At the back, Acer Liquid Jade Primo boasts an impressive 21-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. A sleek-looking Windows 10 flagship that supports Continuum Hardware-wise, the phone is pretty close to Microsoft’s own Lumia 950, safe for not having an insane QHD (1440×2560) display, and is toting a larger, phablet-level screen size. For corporate users, the Liquid Jade Primo also supports device management solutions such as Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA DM) v1. Price and availability in the USA are marked as “to be disclosed”, but in EMEA, the smartphone will launch in February, with prices starting from $620 (€569).
