The following list of mobile service enablers was ratified by the OMA Board of Directors in January 2012.

Device Capabilities

OMA Diagnostic Monitoring V1_1 AER

OMA Diagnostics and Monitoring (DiagMon) enabler manages distributed mobile wireless devices in order to optimize a subscriber’s experience and reduce network operating costs. With DiagMon, operators, vendors and enterprises can perform various diagnostics and monitoring operations on handsets across a network. These include Diagnostics Policies Management, Fault Detection and Reporting, Performance Monitoring, Device Interrogation and Remote Device Repair.

OMA General Service Subscription Management V1_0 CRR

OMA General Service Subscription Management (GSSM) enabler provides subscription management, subscription profile access and subscription validation, which can be used by other OMA service enablers.

OMA GSSM specifies how authorized principals are managing the service subscription (e.g. subscribing to a service, unsubscribing from a service, change of subscription (parameters), subscription suspension/resume/renewal) and access to subscription profiles, and to specify how subscription validation requests are defined and processed.

Service Customization

OMA Location in SIP/IP Core V1_0 AER

OMA Location in SIP/IP core network (LOCSIP) provides a SIP based interface to expose the location information of selected targets. The location information may be processed and utilized by other applications or services in the SIP/IP core network such as a Presence SIP Application server or a PoC Server to enrich the end user experience.

Service Access Interfaces

OMA RESTful Network API for Short Messaging V1_0 CER

OMA RESTful Network API for Short Messaging is a re-publication of the ParlayREST ShortMessaging API V 1.1 [ParlayREST_SMS] and is included in the suite of OMA RESTful Network APIs. Changes include ‘bug’ fixes and structural adjustments to support this suite.

Version 1.0 of the RESTful Network API for Short Messaging continues to support the following operations:
Send text message to a terminal

  • Check delivery status of the outgoing message
  • Check incoming messages (polling mode)
  • Create subscriptions for notifications for inbound messages based on given criteria (online)
  • Delete subscriptions for notifications for inbound messages (online)
  • Create subscriptions for notifications for outbound messages based on given criteria (online)
  • Delete subscriptions for notifications for outbound messages (online)
  • Retrieve message content
  • Confirm message retrieval by deleting message (execute DELETE method)

The following new functionalities have been introduced:

  • Support for scope values used with authorization framework defined in [Autho4API_10]
    Support for Anonymous Customer Reference (ACR) as an end user identifier
    Support for ‘acr:Authorization’ as a reserved keyword in a resource URL variable that identifies an end user.

All changes are backwards-compatible with ParlayREST ShortMessaging V 1.1, with the following exception: the introduction of ‘messages’ in the resource URL path for the resource ‘Inbound SMS messages retrieve and delete using registration.’

OMA RESTful Network API for Device Capabilities V1_0 CER

  • Create a subscription for device capabilities change notifications (for a single device or a group of devices)
  • Send a notification on device capabilities changes to a subscribed application
  • Set device configuration (for a single device or a group of devices)
  • Retrieve available configurations for a given device model
  • Retrieve configuration history for a given device

The following new functionalities have been introduced:

  • Support for scope values used with authorization framework defined in [Autho4API_10]

OMA RESTful Network API for Notification Channel V1_0 CER

OMA RESTful Network API for Notification Channel contains HTTP protocol bindings for Notification Channel, using the REST architectural style. The specification provides resource definitions, the HTTP verbs applicable for each of these resources and the element data structure. The specification also provides support material including flow diagrams and examples using the various supported message body formats (i.e. XML, JSON, and application/x-www-form- urlencoded).

Version 1.0 of this specification continues to support the following operations:

  • Manage Notification Channel
  • Retrieve asynchronous notifications from the Notification Server

The following new functionalities have been introduced:

  • Support for scope values used with authorization framework defined in [Autho4API_10]
  • Support for Anonymous Customer Reference (ACR) as an end user identifier
  • Support for ‘acr:Authorization’ as a reserved keyword in a resource URL variable that identifies an end user
