San Diego, California, USA – Marketwired – December 15, 2016 – The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) today announced that results of the October 2016 OMA Lightweight M2M (LwM2M) TestFest held in Singapore are now available to the public online at the OMA GitHub page (PDF).

During the October 2016 OMA TestFest event, 20 engineers from 8 companies tested 4 clients and 6 servers using the LwM2M protocol. Companies testing their implementations included Altair Semiconductor, AVSystem, Bosch Software Innovations GmbH, ERICSSON, ETRI, IOTEROP, MDS Technology Co., Ltd and Nokia.

“The OMA TestFest provided us with an opportunity to test the stability and interoperability of our LwM2M implementation, embedded in our ALT1160 LTE CAT-1 Chipset, in a multi-vendor environment, while at the same time helping to ensure the quality of OMA specifications,” said Eran Eshed, VP of Worldwide Marketing and Sales at Altair. “We’re proud to be the first LTE chipset provider to demonstrate this level of interoperability at an OMA event.”

Lightweight M2M (LwM2M) is a device management protocol designed for sensor networks and the demands of a machine-to-machine (M2M) environment. With LwM2M, OMA has responded to market demand for a common standard for managing lightweight and low power devices on a variety of networks making up the Internet of Things (IoT). The TestFest was the fourth event sponsored by OMA allowing companies to test their LwM2M clients and servers. Results of the TestFest event are available online at: https://github.com/OpenMobileAlliance/OMA_LwM2M_for_Developers/wiki/2016-October-TestFest-Results.

In addition to the TestFest event, while in Singapore OMA hosted a seminar and webinar entitled, “How Developers Can Get the Most Out of IoT Standards and Tools”. The event highlighted presentations from TestFest participants Nokia, MDS Technology Co., Ltd, IOTEROP and Bosch software.
